Social Skills Groups

FACT provides both virtual and face to face social skills groups depending on client needs and abilities. Typically a client will be recommended for social skills groups once they have built rapport with their tech and or BCBA and have prerequisite skills such as sitting for at least 5-10 minutes and attending as well as have decreased significant maladaptive behaviors.

In-person Social Skills Groups

Clients are paired with similar aged peers and work on various skills within the social domain including but not limited to, initiating conversations/play interactions, accepting losing at a game, and taking turns.

The main focus for clients is to learn a variety of appropriate social behaviors including conversational, friendship, and problem-solving skills that can be generalized across individuals and environments.

Virtual Social Skills Groups

Benefits include increasing social skills, developing problem solving skills, building self confidence, and increasing communication skills. Social skills groups help clients transition through the different developmental phases with peers.
